              The Turkish government continued to grapple with Kurdish militants who killed two police officers in a car bomb attack in the country’s southeast last Sunday.AFGHANISTAN: Taliban insurgents raided a jail in eastern Afghanistan last Monday, setting 350 inmates free. The attack killed four police officers and wounded another seven. The Taliban fighters detonated an explosives-laden vehicle in front of the jail in Ghazni. Then six militants dressed in police uniforms raided the jail. Meanwhile, four people were killed and 41 injured in a suicide attack last Wednesday near Kabul.YEMEN: Strikes by Saudi-led coalition aircraft killed 54 people across Yemen last Tuesday, including four children. In another set of airstrikes last Thursday that targeted the home of a Houthi leader in Sanaa, nine civilians were killed. The leader, Ibrahim al-Shami, was not in the house at the time. 14 pro-government troops were killed when a Saudi-led coalition airraid targeted their position “by mistake” last Friday. Firing from the rebel forces, on the other hand, killed five Saudi soldiers near its Yemen border.PAKISTAN: Taliban gunmen killed 42 people, including 16 praying in a mosque, when they stormed an air force base last Friday in the deadliest Taliban attack on a military installation in the country’s history. The 13 militant gunmen were also killed in the attack on Badaber air base, near Peshawar. Just a day after the attack, 28 terrorists were killed after air force jets carried out strikes in different areas close to the Afghan border.
